In February 2022 the Los Angeles County Chief Executive Office hand selected Dion Rambo for the Quality & Productivity Commission, the first appointment of its kind in 47 years. From that seat he works on innovation across all 39 county departments, reports to the Board of Supervisors, and helped rebuild the County's procurement system so small businesses could actually reach the money.
He had been building that access long before the appointment. He created the Accessing LA series for Mayor Eric Garcetti and still runs it today under Mayor Karen Bass, six years and counting across all 15 council districts. He founded Contract Ready, now the largest small business contracting conference series in LA County, filling rooms of a thousand and more, four times a year, with a free training library reaching every one of the County's 88 cities.
The businesses came from the same playbook. Rambo House Media, founded 2008, and the TeleHealth Van fleet are multimillion dollar operations built on contracts and grants he learned to win, more than $20 million managed across the ecosystem. The vans run debt free across 67+ sites in California and on U.S. military bases.
Then he spends the profit. The Pull Up mental health concert brings 6,000+ inner city college students into one room, produced with his business partner YG and delivered alongside the LA County Department of Children and Family Services and the Department of Mental Health. Contract money in, community out. That is the entire model.
